Why do businesses fail?

If it's human nature to always shop and buy things, why do many retail stores tend to fail and close? The answer is very simple...the store has a poor location, poor adverstisement, not appealing to the customer or they don't have a good target market. Two great examples of this are Steve & Barry and Circuit City. I think if both of these stores actually put more time into adverstisement they would have more people coming into their stores; and instead of being a stand alone they Steve & Barry should be in a mall next to stores such as RAVE or 5,7,9 so something like that because they sell affordable clothes that are appealing to men, women, and teens. Circuit City should be placed in a strip mall where they would be stand alone but at the same time they can draw customers in who are shopping at the strip mall. Having variety and things great customer service is extermely important because I think that Best Buy has an amazing customer service program. Since Steve & Barry sells cheap clothes they should have put more variety into their stores so they would be able to actually sell more for a cheaper price. There are many things that can happen for a business to have to close, but I feel that these are some of the most important aspects of having a successful business.
